The Diploma in Credit Management and Debt Collection is a structured course that has been formulated specifically for those in Credit roles or aspiring Credit Managers in the workplace. This part-time course provides participants with an in depth exploration of the credit management role within organisation. It sets out to dispel any negative perceptions there may be about credit and replace the current perceptions with a positive, commercially aware, profit focused, customer centered function at the heart of every successful business.

The course enables participants to appreciate what steps have to be taken and the optimal order the tasks should be completed, which ensure that they will achieve results effectively through building successful relationships with their customers and colleagues throughout their own organisation. It highlights the important skills which a credit manager needs in order to successfully juggle the demands of the customers, the finance department, mitigating risk and the need to grow sales.

Participants will gain a full understanding their own behavioural style and the impact it can have on peers, employees, clients and their own managers. Participants are encouraged to build on their strengths and put together action plans for addressing their areas of development. Participants learn to network, build their profile and are persuasive in their presentations to others. Participants will also learn about the distinction between Credit Control and Debt Collection. There comes a time in the life of a debt where the focus shifts from developing the relationship to getting the money. This eveningn course will provide a framework for the Debt Collection activity and a step by step approach to ensuring payment is received whenever possible.

Mature Students - If you are 23 years or over from the 1st January of this year, you can apply for this course directly using the College’s online application form. A member of the College’s admissions team will be in touch to discuss your course entry requirements. Under 23 Years - 5 Ordinary Level, Grade D3s or above in your Leaving Certificate (subjects to include Maths and a language) or equivalent exam taken.
