In sewing and fashion design, a pattern is the paper or cardboard template from which the parts of a garment are traced onto fabric before being cut out and assembled. They are sometimes called paper patterns. Imagine being able to take accurate figure measurements, understand trade terms, diagrams and illustrations of trade procedures and adapt the latest trends in clothing. This course will also teach you to distinguish between the various styles of sleeves, skirts, bodices and collars and know and understand other key dressmaking and pattern cutting tasks.
