Course syllabus and structure
You will study the theory of the main nutrients required for a healthy diet as well as deficiencies, disorders and key illnesses associated with diet.
Additionally you will develop underpinning knowledge and skills required to successfully compose a dietary plan.
The course covers the digestive system, absorption, distribution, metabolism, and nutrients.
Included are: calories, RDA's, cholesterol, carbohydrates, proteins, vegetarian diets, food allergies and food poisoning.
This is ideal for any complementary therapist who wishes to be able to give more guidance to their clients on healthy eating and the holistic approach.
During the course you will be eligible for student membership to the Complementary Therapists Association.
Course is limited to eight students.
Assessment
Attendance of tutor led sessions is an important part of the course and the following assessments:
Exams
Diet and Nutrition for Complementary Therapists multiple choice theory paper of 30 minutes duration, with a total of 25 questions.

- Part Time Study
Accreditation
With the International Training Examination Council (ITEC)
Qualification
Once qualified you will be awarded an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Diet & Nutrition for Complementary Therapists.
This will entitle you to Full Membership of the Complementary Therapists Association and you will be eligible for Professional insurance to practice as a Diet & Nutrition Advisor in Ireland.
Career Opportunities
Successful Completion of this course will enable students to practice as a Professional Diet & Nutrition Advisor to work in their own practice or in a health care setting.
