Developing e-Government Strategies

Course details

The course aims to provide participants with an understanding of e-Government and its evolution. The course  will learn about and discuss e-Government strategies that can be implemented by public sector organisations for strategic planning and transformational purposes. It will also provide an opportunity for participants to share their respective countries’ experiences in e-Government and to develop an e-Government action plan.

• Frameworks for e-Government: governance, infrastructure and access technology, and business process engineering
• National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategies
• Capacity building
• Strategic sourcing
• Service innovation & delivery
• Change management
• Defining and measuring outcomes
• Citizen-centric service innovation

Participant Profile

Government officials at the Director/Director-General level in charge of implementing e-Government projects or operations in their respective organisations

Eligibility

Applicants for SCP training programmes should satisfy the following criteria: 

• Mid- to senior level officials, unless otherwise stated
• Nominated by their respective Governments or National Focal Points for Technical Assistance
• Suitably qualified to attend the training programme, as assessed by the training agency
• Proficient in English, i.e. have a good command of spoken and written English (Please note that there will be no interpreters on hand during the training)
• In good health and medically fit to complete the course
• Be able to attend the training programme from the start date to the end date
