Course details

A DataBase Management System or DBMS is a software program that is used to create databases. The program also allows users to update tables and records within the database.

Database management systems are widely used by Internet applications web servers and e-commerce sites.

This course provides you with a working knowledge of database management systems to allow you make full use of information stored on databases.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to:

  • Describe the principles of the relational database
  • Create and modify tables, queries, forms and reports using MS Access
  • Demonstrate proficiency retrieving and manipulating information using MS Access
  • Analyse information using the functions of MS Access
  • Access, define, and manipulate data using SQL
