Contemporary Issues in Strategic Human Resource Management (CISHRM) focusses on the rewarding employment of people and subsequent organisational success. This course reviews and applies theoretical and practical perspectives relevant to organisational achievement. The analytical and practical tools to apply various approaches to the conception, planning, implementation and evaluation of strategic policy and practices in the key functional areas of HRM are key learning outcomes within this course. To achieve these aims, the topics include the changing nature of the workplace, the impact of technology, global influences, high-performance work systems, cultural transformation, workforce planning and talent management, performance management, leadership and management competencies, ethics and the importance of employee voice.
