Concepts of Communication Skills Egyptian Banking Institute

Effective communication of messages and information is essential for any business. Communication is one of the most important skills required by all staff, and especially for junior staff. The aim of this one-day course is to provide the knowledge, skills and confidence to communicate effectively with a range of people.Course Objectives:

  • Understand the main concepts and required skills for effective communication
  • Apply various techniques to reach effective communication

Course Outline:

Module 1: Core of Communication Skills

  • Different types of communication including oral, written, visual, electronic and their relative advantages and disadvantages
  • Communicating with others – expectations, legal requirements, sensitivity (eg. privacy)
  • Barriers to effective communication

Module 2: Communication Skills Techniques

  • Questioning skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Non-verbal communication – body language
  • How to use feedback to check effectiveness of communication

Assessment Strategy:

Participants will be informally assessed on their interaction during sessions and their participation in exercises.
