    Programme Overview

    This 1 year full time course, with the possibility of progressing to the QQI Level 6 Computer Systems and Networks award programme and provides the opportunity to train for a rewarding career in the IT Industry.   The programme specifically prepares participants for careers in Computer Systems, Programming, Networking and Technical Support.  It is comprehensively resources with state-of-the are hardware and software systems.  Currently, there are many openings in the Software Industry in Ireland.

    Entry Requirements

    • Applicants must have Leaving Certificate, LCA or equivalent.
    • A minimum of grade D in English and Maths is required
    • Holders of a QQI Level 4 Award are also eligible to apply.
    • Mature learners (over 23) may be exempt from the above academic requirements.
    • In addition applicants will have to undertake an interview.

    Limerick College of Further Education is a long-established, state-funded and administered further education college. It is one of many centres of education run by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. LCFE was known until 2008 as Limerick Senior College.

    LCFE offers Further Education (Post Leaving Certificate) programmes and Professional qualifications in a variety of disciplines and caters for approximately 1200 full-time and 3000 part-time learners. Its campuses are situated in the South-East of the city on Mulgrave Street (a short distance from the city centre) and also in East Limerick at Cappamore.
