    This course will aim to offer participants an introduction to the world of computers which is one of the fastest growing industries and has been a growth area in Ireland for quite some time. This course will provide a sound foundation in the practical use of a wide variety of computer application packages. Student will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to cope with advancements in computer technology. This course may be of particular interest to those wishing to improve their confidence in using computers and a broad range of computer applications It will be of benefit to anyone interested in a career in a business or commercial computer environment. The aim is to give the students proficiency in a number of computer based skills which would be of value particularly in a business environment or other growing IT industries. During the course students may opt to seek work experience with organisations using multi media and computers in everything from web application to games development.

    Certification:FETAC LEVEL 5

    Career Opportunities:There is a wide range of opportunities in the I.T. sector including:
    Technical Support, Web/Internet Support Computer Operations, Administration, etc Students obtaining certification in this course may progress to selected courses in Third Level colleges under the Higher Education Links Scheme including course links to DIT, IT Blanchardstown, IT Tallaght. There are now a large amount of places in computer courses in universities and in many local colleges. There are many opportunities for employment in areas like web design, computer game production, advertising, etc. There are also many further study opportunities in FETAC level 6 courses and in programmes that lead to advanced entry to English universities.
