Course details

This course concentrates on providing students with the range of skills necessary for a career as a Computer Network Administrator. The programme is designed to give students a practical expertise in designing, deploying and maintaining networks according to current best practices.

Successful students will gain a qualifiation, which will validate the range of skills necessary for a career in this important sector of the ICT industry. Students will also undertake relevant work experience in order to further develop their skills in this area.

Awarding Body:

Further Education and Training Awards Council-FETAC (QQI) -Advanced Certificate in Computer Systems & Networks Level 6.

Career Opportunities:

Students who complete the course successfully will be prepared for immediate entry into the employment market as computer network administrators and advanced grade computer technicians.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

Successful completion of the FETAC/QQI Computer Systems & Networks Level 5 Award or equivalent standard of education. Exemptions may be granted to mature students. All entry is subject to interview.
