Course details

The aim of this module is to give the learners an opportunity to reflect on the nature of human communication and on their own individual competence as communicators. It encourages learners who may already be practised and experienced communicators to explore ways of developing and refining existing skills to their full potential, in a comprehensive range of everyday tasks and in work related tasks independently and/or in a supervisory capacity.

Programme Aim:

At the end of the course the learner will be:

• To gain an understanding of the role played by communication in how humans interact with one another
• Learning about the principles and practices involved in research and relaying information in a correct manner
• To explore a variety of ways to communicate
• To develop skills required to encode and decode meaning in different forms of communication

Entry Requirement

Leaving cert or equivalent qualification. Relevant life/work experience is also considered
