Increasingly, the writer is becoming an integral part in the selling and marketing of their work. When a publisher looks at a publishing proposal, for example, their focus is as much the marketing of the book and author's role in that process as it is on the content of the proposed work. Not only are highly developed written and oral communication skills vital to making your mark on the world and paving a way for a successful writing career, but the speaking circuit can sometimes be as profitable as the writing game. Simon Clews
For ten years now Simon Clews has been the Director of Melbourne University's Writing Centre for Scholars and Researchers. Simon also regularly offers non-fiction writing workshops for writers all around the world. He is Creative Program Director for Melbourne's Reader's Feast book store producing Writers on Collins, an annual program of literary events,and Crime & Justice, a celebration of crime writing and social justice that takes place in late November. He is a regular book reviewer and writer of newspaper articles . Simon has just set up a digital start-up publishing company ideePOP which will offer exciting short to medium length non-fiction writing by breakout writers.

Minimum Maximum Number of Participants: 10 30 pax
Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis and workshop fees must be paid before the workshop. If the minimum number of participants is not met for the class, the organisers will inform all participants about possible postponement and cancellation of workshop, two weeks before the workshop date.

All ALAP workshops serve tea-breaks and provide course handouts.

Cancellation & Substitution
Fees paid are non-refundable but transferable. Fees will be refunded in the event of a cancellation of workshop if participant wishes not to transfer the fees which have been paid to another workshop Requests for cancellation must be made two weeks before the workshop date. A cancellation charge of 50% of the full course fee will be applicable for requests made later than two weeks before the workshop date. Upon registration, you are deemed to have read and understood the registration procedures and accepted the terms contained therein.
