This course deals with the historical, philosophical, and sociological foundations of education and addresses current societal and legal issues affecting education today and those that may come into play in the future. It will also provide a detailed overview of legal and ethical issues affecting the profession.

Learning Outcomes
Participants will be able to demonstrate an understanding of historical, philosophical, sociological, and political foundations of education. Integrate the use of technology in ways that will enable students to extend opportunities for communication and inquiry in educational contexts. Develop an understanding of the politics of education and its impact on formerly marginalized groups, such as second language learners, and learners with special needs.
