    South Africa, in it's quest to remain the biggest economy in Africa and to ultimately become a first world economy depends entirely on the commitment and will of it's people, and both the public and private sectors to achieve this.

    One of the key drivers in this process will be to have a sustainable and qualified workforce. To this end, Masiqhame Trading 81cc/FABRICON, under the directorship of Selwin and Chantal Swartz has risen to take up this challenge through the acquisition of Kims Welding School.

    All courses offered will be quality assured by the Metal and Engineering Industries and Related Services Sector Education Training Authorities (MERSETA) Learner, Education, Training and Quality Assurance (LETQA) division. Courses will therefore fall within the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and in accordance with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) requirements.

    Objectives:

    To facilitate access to training interventions viz. learnerships, apprenticeships, accelerated artisan training programme (AATP), voucher training, artisan training and recognition agreement in the metal industries (ATRAMI), skills programmes and experiential training for University students through the Metal Engineering and Related Services Sector Training Authority (MERSETA).

    • To facilitate access to above mentioned programmes by the unemployed youth 
    • To up skill and certificate the currently employed through a process of recognition of prior learning (RPL) 
    • To facilitate training needs analyses and skills audits within companies 
    • To administer training programmes(apprenticeships, learnerships etc.) for and on behalf of companies from registration to certification 
    • To provide a counselling service to learners especially with regards to career pathing. 
    • To provide on-site training for companies where needed. 
    • To provide training in line with the broader aims of the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative (ASGISA) and the Joint Initiative for Priority Skills Acquisition (JIPSA) of the South African government. 
    • To provide training to industry in line with the Sector Skills Plan of the said industry.
