Cloud computing has opened the doors for businesses around the world to harness unrivalled computing power. A wide spectrum of technologies are available in the cloud computing architecture to aid the deployment of websites and web applications while removing the need for costly in-house solutions to business problems.
This course is aimed at anyone who wants to gain a working insight into the world of cloud computing and get their foot on the ladder of a career in cloud computing applications.
Programme Aims and Objectives
This course provides an introduction to cloud computing and provides a deep look at the technologies that make up the deployment of a production web server. A complete look at the server from the network level up to the application level is taken to provide insight into the common faults and setbacks that occur during deployment.

The programme is delivered through tutor led classes, concentrating on labs and hands on skills. Areas covered include:
- Introduction to the area of cloud computing and the advantages it can have for a business
- Overview of the major players in the area of cloud computing
- Calculating service costs on cloud platforms
- Setting up a server on the Amazon EC2
- Setting up a server on Microsoft Azure
- Setting up a server on Google’s Cloud Platform
- Data storage facilities on the cloud including CloudFront, S3, Glacier
- Data storage laws in Ireland and Worldwide
- Security in a Cloud based implementation
- Setting up cloud based DNS server
- Cloud based mail hosting solutions and delivery related issues
- Utilizing cloud services in web applications
