Clinical governance is a complex and multi-faceted concept, dependent upon successful adoption of a whole systems approach that integrates clinical and non-clinical services. The successful integration of these various elements within any healthcare organization would lead to what is sometimes termed as ‘Healthcare Governance’. This is all about establishing frameworks for sustaining and improving clinical quality, which requires sustained and concerted efforts from all staff in a healthcare organization.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course aims to provide a good foundation on clinical governance by providing the knowledge, skills and tools to support its implementation in any healthcare environment and setting. It will cover the application of principles and practice of clinical governance, the effective integration of both clinical and corporate governance, as well as the role and responsibilities of clinicians and managers.
