Cisco DESGN 2.1: Structuring and Modularizing the Network New Horizons Jordan
Price: TBA
  • Duration: 3 Hours

Course details

The traditional approach to building a network has been to follow the hierarchical core- distribution-access layered model. To further enhance the design process, Cisco has created the Network Architectures for the Enterprise. The Cisco Network Architectures for the Enterprise consists of five modules. These modules represent focused views of the Borderless Network, Collaboration, and Data Center/Virtualization architectures. Each module targets a specific segment of the network. Each module consists of a distinct network infrastructure and services. Some network applications extend between the modules. The hierarchical network structure is composed of the access, distribution, and core layers. Each layer has its own functions, which are used to develop a hierarchical network design. The hierarchical model historically was used as the sole method for designing enterprise LAN and WAN data networks. Currently the hierarchical model also serves as a major component for more advanced modular designs. This course describes a basic network hierarchy and the Cisco modular approach to designing an enterprise network with an emphasis on the Borderless Networks design considerations. The tools administrators require for managing and monitoring the functionality of network devices, connections, and services are also covered.
