Cisco DESGN 2.1: Designing Basic Campus and Data Center Networks New Horizons Jordan
Price: TBA
  • Duration: 2 Hours

Course details

The availability of multigigabit campus switches enables organizations to build high-performance, highly reliable networks. When you follow a systematic network design approach, then performance, reliability, and manageability are achievable. This module describes a hierarchical campus network design approach called multilayer design. Multilayer design is modular, so organizations can increase their network capacity as needed. A multilayer campus design is based on a known campus topology, which aids in troubleshooting. This course will look at network infrastructure design for two places in the network that use the multilayer campus design: the enterprise campus and the enterprise data center. The course first introduces general campus switching design considerations. In addition, the course describes the switching modularity and scalability options that are appropriate for situations ranging from building-sized networks to large campus networks and design considerations for the enterprise data center.

  • describe how network application characteristics and requirements influence network design
  • describe how the campus environment affects network design
  • identify the design considerations when choosing infrastructure devices
  • describe basic design considerations for the enterprise campus network
  • match the STP toolkit elements to their descriptions
  • describe trunk management in the building access layer
  • describe routing implementation in the building access layer
  • describe design considerations of the building distribution layer
  • identify design considerations for the campus core layer
  • identify the security design considerations for edge distribution
  • describe the characteristics of the Cisco Enterprise Data Center Architecture Framework
  • categorize the challenges to the different aspects of the Cisco Enterprise Data Center
  • identify the design considerations for the data center access, aggregation, and core layers
  • describe network and device virtualization design considerations and benefits
