What is Cbrops?
The Understanding Cybersecurity Operations Fundamentals (CBROPS) v1. 0 course teaches an understanding of the network infrastructure devices, operations, and vulnerabilities of the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) protocol suite.
The CBROPS course covers the following topics:
Security concepts: The course starts with an introduction to security concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) and the CIA triad, as well as security governance, risk management, and compliance.
Network infrastructure: The course then covers network infrastructure security, including an overview of common network devices, their vulnerabilities, and how to secure them.
Network security: The course also covers network security, including an overview of network security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
Endpoint protection: The course then covers endpoint protection, including an overview of endpoint security technologies, such as anti-virus software, host-based firewalls, and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Incident response and forensics: The course concludes with an overview of incident response and forensics, including how to detect and respond to security incidents, as well as how to collect and preserve evidence.
The CBROPS certification exam is a 120-minute, 95-105 question exam that tests the candidate's knowledge of the topics covered in the course. Candidates who pass the exam are awarded the Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate certification, which is valid for three years, it is recommended that candidates aim for a score of at least 70% or higher to increase their chances of passing the exam. It is important to note that the exam is a combination of multiple-choice and simulation-based questions, so candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their practical skills in addition to their theoretical knowledge.
