Course objectives

• Adopt an integrative approach to the theory and practice of teaching and training


• Design, organise and evaluate teaching and learning programmes


• Learn and apply a range of methods and techniques of teaching, learning, assessment and evaluation


• Build upon knowledge of principles of learning, teaching assessment and evaluation


• Reflect on personal experience, practice skills and potential for development


• Analyse their trainees abilities, potential and learning needs


• Adopt an innovative approach to collecting and utilising a wide range of teaching and learning resources


• Develop an awareness of your professional role, the systems that underpin it


• Develop your own communication and interpersonal skills

The Learner will study the knowledge of all treatments as well as the anatomy of the skin, hair and nails. Contraindications and recognition of skin diseases and disorders are also a vital part of the training as well as the core of knowledge required to successfully perform treatments in all units.

Each of the units must be supported by 5 case-studies with full evidence of all treatments performed and a full client consultation for each unit. This evidence must include a variety of clients to ensure that experience has been sought and gained across a selection of clients and not just on fellow students!

Home study and revision as well as practical treatments will also need to be conducted in addition to the College salon work and treatments in class

A final external exam will be conducted where a sample of all treatment evidence portfolios will be examined.
The pass rate is 60% - 74% Merit 75%-89% Distinction 90%-100%
