Course details
This subject presents an overview of child development from pre-natal to early childhood. It highlights the joint contributions of biology and environment to the various aspects of child development. The subject also covers observational methods in assessing and evaluating the children's development.
Objectives
- Identify the key characteristics in children's growth and development.
- Examine the different factors that affect child development.
- Apply knowledge and skills in understanding children's behaviour based on current theories and research.
- Record observations of young children's development and learning for evaluation purposes.
