Noesis provides a well-balanced understanding of theory and practice to students with instructors who are practitioners with wide industry experience. Our lecturers are dedicated and experienced instructors, most of whom are CIMA holders and have over 10 years of lecturing and training experience. In providing part-time studies, we understand the priority to provide flexibility for our students in their study schedules. Taking into consideration the need for students to balance work and their studies, classes are conducted intensively on weekends. We also recognize that as working adults, the sharing of experience and interaction with lecturers in class is an important tool of learning; therefore class numbers are kept small. In addition this allows personal and professional attention to be directed to each inpidual.

CIMA CURRICULUM

  • The syllabus is strong on the core accounting skill, but also includes 'Big Data', sustainability, integrated reporting and finance function transformation. We also study risk, as well as costing and cost management.
  • Passing your CIMA assessments at every level shows to an employer that you have a grasp of theory and practice.
  • The syllabus is split into three pillars and three levels, and comprises 12 exams.

Operational and Management Levels

Operational level

This is first level of the professional qualification. You will learn how to:

  • Prepare financial statements.
  • Provide management accounting information.
  • Use appropriate tools for decision making through a broad understanding of business.

Management level

This is the second level of the professional qualification and consists of three exams. You will learn how to:

  • Prepare group accounts.
  • Make pricing and product decisions based on a robust analysis.
  • Manage projects and relationships.

Strategic Level

  • This is the third and final level of the professional qualification and consists of three exams. You will learn how to formulate financial strategy and manage strategic relationships while managing risk, using the competencies gained at operational and management levels.

Assessment

Objective tests

  • You take nine key assessments (the objective tests) on demand and via computer with results available immediately. This will give you more flexibility with how you plan your way through the qualification.
  • You can choose to sit your assessments the moment you feel you are ready. There's no need to follow a rigid test schedule. As soon as you pass, you can move on to the next objective test.

Case studies

  • Our case studies, available four times a year, focus on the key skills employers have asked for.
  • Our case study assessments consolidate the learning at each CIMA level (operational, management, strategic) to reflect real-life work situations. They are also taken via computer but marked in person by our examiners.
