Course details

This course is based around the discipline and concepts offinancial management. Financial management isall-encompassing and embraces both the asset andliability sides of an organisation. Although FinancialManagers are at senior positions and on par with the CFOand Treasurer, they are not engaged in accountingfunctions nor that of auditing.

However, he/she is integrally involved in most aspects ofderiving the net income. Responsibilities ranging fromasset/ liability management, to capital structure, toworking capital and identifying financing sources amongsta myriad of options and costs - some transparent, othershidden and some mingled - all fall under the role of theFinancial Manager. Given its natural overlapping role,especially with treasury, vis-à-vis banking relationships andfunding sources, cooperation becomes critical amongstkey players such as the financial manager, CFO andtreasurer to ensure that taking, for example, a derivativeposition, is agreed upon and documented as a financiallysound position to take.

This course will help you grasp the main concepts offinance and the practical mechanics of its implementationin different market disciplines, such as banking,commercial, industry as well as SMEs. It will provide youwith the necessary tools to make a sound financialdecision - as in investments, acquisitions, divestitures,funding, and product architecture.
