Course details

Chainsaw Maintenence Course is designed to provide course learners with the appropiate knowledge of how to correctly maintain a chainsaw, the hazards and dangers when operating a chainsaw and the procedure when using a chainsaw to cross-cut timber.

Course Objectives

  • Upon completion of our course, a learner will be able to:
  • Correctly cross-cut timber
  • Properly maintain and use chainsaw
  • Successfully dismantle and repair a chainsaw

Course Programme

  • Health and Safety requirements when using a chainsaw
  • Hazards and dangers of working with chainsaws
  • Inspection and maintenence associated with chainsaws
  • Correct procedure when cross-cutting timber

Training Methods

Day 1, classroom based presentation. Participants will be disassembling and reassembling a chainsaw as well as being showen how to properly maintain a chainsaw. Day 2 shows participants how correctly cross-cut wood.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for anyone who uses a chainsaw in the daily work environment and cutting timber is part of their job function.

Additional Information:

  • Maximum of 4 participants per course
  • All participants on this course must have proper Personal Protective Equipment i.e. boots, gloves, shoes, trousers and visor hat.
