Course details
The Certificate IV in EAL (Employment/Professional) is designed for professionals who were not born in Australia. You will learn how to explore the local job market and transfer your experience and skills to the workplace. This course will help you enhance your listening, oral and written communication skills and learn essential job seeking skills. You will undertake an industry placement and have the opportunity to learn how to communicate effectively in the workplace.
The course involves seven weeks class attendance, followed by a 4-6 week work placement in the relevant professional field (subject to availability). The teaching team have conducted over 50 courses with excellent employment outcomes for participants across a wide range of professions.
The course covers all aspects of preparation for employment including;

- Addressing key selection criteria
- Understanding job advertisements
- Interview techniques and practice
- Communication skills
- Australian workplace culture
- Networking and cold calling
- Oral presentation skills
- Practical work placement
- Ongoing support
Please note the English as an Additional Language courses replace previous ESL courses.
