The Certificate in Understanding Speech and Language Impairment aims to provide parents, teachers and teaching assistants with an understanding of pupils with Speech and Language Impairment and their learning needs.

Methods of Assessment
Participants are required to produce a 1000-word Speech and Language Therapy report to assist learning. The assignment is due 15 working days after the final session of the course.(Optional for participants who wish to attain a Certificate of Attendance instead of the Certificate in Understanding Speech and Language Impairment*)
Qualification Awarded
- A Certificate in Understanding Speech and Language Impairment will be awarded to participants who attain at least 80% attendance and successfully pass the written assessment.
- A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who attain 80% attendance but do not undertake the assessment or have failed the reassessment**.
- One reassessment opportunity for failed assessment component.
