Course details
Graduates will have the required skills and knowledge to work effectively within an organisation at entry level, to work as part of a team supporting software development projects, to produce multimedia content (such as graphics and audio), configure networks & systems and to configure & maintain hardware. This course introduces students to general multimedia systems; it shows them how to produce audio, video and 2-D animation content and how to publish that content to the web.
In order to successfully enter this programme, learners should have at least one of the following:
- A minimum of 5 passes (Grade D3 or better) in the Leaving Certificate (including English / Irish) and a minimum B3 in ordinary level or D3 in higher level Mathematics.
- QQI level 5 Major Award in Information Technology or International Equivalent to Leaving Certificate with the equivalent of a minimum B3 in ordinary level or D3 in higher level Mathematics.
- Non native English speakers should have evidence of an IELTS level 5.5 (or equivalent)
- For mature learners (i.e. age 23 and older), applications will be individual assessed in order to determine suitability through Dorset College’s ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’ policy.
