With over €15bn being spent annually on public procurement in Ireland, the public procurement specialist needs a focused education that will assure taxpayers that the public money is spent at their best interest.
This is the first formal Irish accredited Public Sector Programme that is recognised on the National Framework for Qualifications (Level 6) and accredited by the Quality and Qualifications Ireland the QQI. This is a 30 credits award.
Who is it for?
If you are in the business of competing for tenders or of building tenders, you are facing many challenges including the actual tendering processes, contracts, EU regulations.
This Certificate in Public Procurement is ideal for those who are new to public procurement and the process of procurement or have substantial working experience in public tendering or procurement, but have no academic background or relevant qualifications.

- Economics
- Principles of Procurement
- Principles of Public Procurement
On Completion of this course
- Student will have a working knowledge of leading edge thinking in the area of Economics, purchasing and public sector procurement.
- Students will have developed an understanding of the organisational and management issues involved in Public Sector Procurement.
- Students will demonstrate skills that they are capable of managing and communicating with the their relevant stakeholders in the public sector procurement process.
- When the three examinations and module assignments are successfully passed, students will be awarded the Certificate in Public Procurement.
- Students can enter the IIPMM Higher Certificate in Business, Procurement Programme and be exempt from the modules completed.
