Course details
The focus of this course is on the application of the English Language as the international language for communication. As the International English Language Testing
System (IELTS) is primarily used by those seeking an international education for professional recognition and migration to English-speaking countries, it is therefore used as a yardstick to gauge the non-natives speakers of English of their ability to use and understand English.
IELTS covers all four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, and is offered in two test formats – Academic and General Training.
The aim of this course is to prepare students in the application of the English Language to do well in the IELTS. The course will assist the students to plan and practice their application in the English Language so that they will be confident to sit for the IELTS by examining key fundamentals, the right approach, effective solving techniques and test-taking strategies.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to communicate confidently through speaking and presenting themselves in front of others. They should be able to attempt the IELTS at the end of the course.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
For students taking the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and must preferably have an English proficiency at Secondary 2 level. Applicant may be required to sit for a Diagnostic Test to ascertain whether the applicant has the minimum standard to be able to take the IELTS.
CERTIFICATE AWARDED
A “Certificate of Attendance” will be awarded by Parkway College.
