This course has been specifically designed to prepare students for employment in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and develope multimedia products and web sites.
Work Experience:
Students will spend two weeks working in an IT environment in local commercial and industrial concerns.
Entry Requirements:
This course is aimed at students who have completed the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, Leaving Certificate Vocational and mature students with an interest in IT, with suitable candidates being selected by interview
Certification:
There is continuous assessment throughout the year and examinations in May. This course is certified by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) at level 5. Successful students will receive a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Information Technology (CITXX) or a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Multimedia Production( EMMPX) at the end of year one.
Career Progression:
This course is designed to equip students with the qualifications and experience necessary to progress into the Advanced Certificate in Networks and Software Systems or the Advanced Certificate in Multimedia and Web Development in O’ Fiaich Institute or higher education or progress directly into employment.
Location of Course:
This course is jointly hosted by O’Fiaich Institute of Further Education and Dundalk Institute
of Technology.
