Parkway College offers this Course as an opportunity to students with/without science background and to those who wish to refresh their knowledge on basic sciences to acquire the foundation to enhance their pursuit of the Biological Science modules in the Diploma in Nursing Course.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
This Course will enable students to learn the basics of Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology.

- Gastrointestinal system

- Reproductive system

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Local secondary/ international high school graduates with/ without some background on Science, Biology or Physics who wish to pursue a career in Nursing
Local secondary/ international high school graduates with prerequisite science subjects who wish to have a refresher course in basic sciences prior to enrolment to the College’s Diploma in Nursing Course
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
*All applicants must be at least 16 years at time of application for the Course:
Local Students
- Applicants who fulfilled the academic requirements for Diploma in Nursing Course and wish to refresh knowledge of basic science
- Applicants who did not fulfill the academic requirement for science subject for the Diploma in Nursing Course
International Students
Applicants who fulfill all the academic requirements for Diploma in Nursing Course, but do not fulfill the academic requirement for Science subject.
COURSE ASSESSMENT
- Written Examination
- Presentation
GRADUATION CRITERIA
A student is deemed to have successfully completed the Course if he/she has fulfilled the following criteria:
- achieved at least a minimum grade of D for written examination and graded presentation
- met all financial and administrative obligations to the College
CERTIFICATE AWARDED
Certificate in Fundamentals of Science will be awarded by Parkway College
