Course details
This course is designed to equip and familarise participants at the completion of the course with:
- The basic working knowledge on fire science and fire safety engineering.
- The various types of fire protection installations and equipment in their premises and their operational control and maintenance.
- The means and knowledge to respond to fire alarm activation, fight incipient fire, perform rescue and evacuation.
- The basic knowledge of first aid / CPR
- The basic requirement of fire safety installations and maintenance.
- The basic working knowledge to building inspection and testing of fire protection systems in a building.
- The role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Manager.
- To understand basic concepts and applicants to incident management.
- To have basic knowledge of what are the principal consideration, planning parameters and desired outcome of evacuation planning and emergency response planning.

Entry Requirements
Participants are required to meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
- Personnel responsible for fire safety, security, building / property / facilities maintenance
- Completed Secondary 4 Education or “O” Level or “N” Level or NTC 3
Will I recieve a certificate of completion?
- A participant must attain at least 80% of physical attendance to be eligible to take the prescibed examination at the end of the course.
- Participant who passes the prescibed examination will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement issued by Fire Safety Managers' Association (Singapore) and supported by Civil Defence Academy.
