Course details

This course has been specifically designed to prepare students for employment in the Business and IT sector particularly in theareas of accounting technician, administrative positions in banks or local authorities etc. Students completing this course will be prepared for a variety of positions within theirchosen area or will be able to progress to the Advanced Certificate in Business Administration(Level 6) or to Higher Education.

Work Experience:

Students will spend two weeks working in a business or IT environment in local commercial and industrial concerns.

Entry Requirements:

This course is aimed at students who have completed the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, Leaving Certificate Vocational and mature students with an interest in business and IT with suitable candidates being selected by interview.

Certification:

This course is certified by the Further Education and Training Awards Council(FETAC) at Level 5. Successful students will receive a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in eBusiness (5M0828) at the end of the year.

Career Progression:

This course is designed to equip students with the qualifications and experience necessary to progress into the Advanced Certificate in Business Administration in O’ Fiaich Institute or higher education or progress directly into employment. Graduates obtain employment in areas where high level skills such as web maintenance and design, electronic communications and internet business transactions are required.
