Course details
The aim of this new exciting course is to prepare students for employment in the digital marketing sector. The importance of online strategies for marketing professionals in selling products and services is having more of an impact in today’s ever changing business environment. The course will equip the learner with up to date skills and knowledge in developing and executing digital marketing strategies for business. Students will learn how to develop an integrated marketing approach, using both traditional and online techniques to successfully market a business. Today’s customers research and purchase products and services online.
Work Experience:
Students will spend two weeks working in a business, marketing or IT environment in local commercial and industrial concerns. This work placement is a planned experiential learning activity which will involve learners preparing and planning for work, working under direction in a specific vocational area and reviewing and evaluating that work.
Entry Requirements:
The course is aimed at students who have completed the Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, Leaving Cert Vocational and mature students with an interest in marketing, business and IT with suitable candidates being selected by interview.
Certification:
This course is certified by the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) at Level 5. Successful students will receive a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Digital Marketing (5M2069) at the end of the year.
Career Progression:
This course is designed to equip students with the qualifications and experience necessary to progress into the Advanced Certificate in Business Administration in O’Fiaich College or other higher education or to progress directly into employment. Graduates can obtain employment in areas where high level skills are needed such as digital marketing, business administration, content managers and web design. The course is also for people who wish to gain a professional, accredited qualification in marketing.
