Rapidly changing technology has dramatically changed the world of journalism and newsgathering, challenging both those entering the field and practicing journalists to learn up-to-the-minute best practices across media platforms.
This practical course provides instruction in essential skills such as feature- and breaking-news writing, as well as current digital production and editing techniques.
Participants learn how to deliver news to audiences through a variety of media—newspapers, magazines, websites, blogs, podcasts, social media sites, and more. Students acquire practical training in producing strong narrative stories across multiple platforms; they learn to incorporate print, social media, video, audio, still photography, and infographics; and they develop a portfolio that demonstrates their writing, research, and digital production skills.
