This programme provides graduates with the necessary skills to undertake a career in business data analytics. Upon completion of this course graduates will have an understanding of the confluence of Computing and Business Intelligence including the processes, methodologies, infrastructures and current practices used to transform business data into useful information and support business decision-making.

This programme is designed to develop the participants’ skills in data analytics through providing them with practical skills in database management, business intelligence, statistical techniques, visualization, big data analytics, project, design, development, implementation and management. The course focuses on developing the investigative mind-set through practical case studies on real-world data, projects specified by industry and a solution-focused approach to teaching and learning. Industry-standard tools, applications and methodologies are used in the modules to ensure the graduate is industry-ready. These skills are needed nationally and internationally.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have completed a relevant NFQ Level 6 award in a business or a cognate discipline, such as business, management studies, finance, marketing and social sciences, technology-related area or equivalent, for entry to this programme. The Institute's policy in relation to non-standard applicants also applies. Applicants may also be required to attend for interview.
