This Blended Learning Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy is a combination of the Online Introduction to Counselling & Psychotherapy and two in class experiential weekends. You can either sign up to the full Blended Learning Certificate from the start and avail of discounted fees or upgrade after completing the Online Course. This course is idea for those who need counselling skills in their work, or those who intend to pursue a career in the field of counselling and psychotherapy.

During the in class experiential weekends, interpersonal communication, personal development issues and the application of theory to practice are all well explored. The weekend workshops are facilitated by experienced lecturers (who are also practicing professional counsellors) who guide students to fully explore the basic theories, approaches and skills of counselling, working with other students in small group exercises. This programme is different to many home study counselling courses which do not include the essential, practical application of theory to practice. The classes are held at our Dublin West campus. Dates for these weekends are scheduled at intervals throughout the year.

This Blended Learning Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy programme, taught & designed to Level 6 on the NFQ, is suitable for Personal and Professional Development or as a stepping stone for those who want to prepare for a professional qualification. The PCI College Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy meets one of the entry requirements of our professional BSc Degree Programme.

Accreditation: Upon completion of this course, students will be invited to apply to our BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy (Level 8), validated by Middlesex University. A PCI College Diploma is awarded Year 3 for Professional Accreditation. The BSc degree is taught in-classroom at several venues around the country and the next course begins in September 2015.
