Who should take this course?
Anyone who is carrying out an assessing role independently, or alongside teaching.
Applicants can start this course any time of the year.
Course Requirements:
The outcomes are based on applicants carrying out two assessments with two candidates. These assessments must be classroom and in the workplace. Assessments in the workplace may include annual reviews and appraisals. There are many ways to assess in the classroom, and all of these will be discussed. Your personal tutor will advise you further on this.
Course Delivery:
Online,and blended with dedicated tutor support. Students can work through the course at their own pace, and submit assignments online for assessment and feedback. All materials are available online and students are required to take part in discussion topics to show knowledge and understanding.
Duration: up to 3 months
Course Content:
Unit 1 Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
Demonstrate knowledge of different methods of assessment, planning assessments, involving others, making assessment decisions, understanding quality assurance as well as legal and good practice requirements, and managing information. Method of assessment is online assignments.
Unit 2 Assess occupational competence in the work environment
Ideal for those carrying out NVQ-type qualifications, where assessments are carried out at work with candidates performing everyday duties. Method of assessment is via observation of candidate carrying out an assessment in the workplace, questioning the learner, discussions with the learner, and examining learner statements and their work products.
Unit 3 Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
Aimed at those who carry out assessments in the classroom or in other training environments. Candidates needs to prepare and carry out assessments such as tests, assignments or projects, keep records and follow legal and good practice requirements. Method of assessment is by observation.

Career Skills Training is a training institute formed by a group of educators who have several years of experience in providing education and training in academic and vocational qualifications in the UK.
We are approved by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority(KHDA) to provide our services in a range of training areas to meet the demands of KHDA in UAE.
We are particularly excited about the teacher training programmes that have been mapped to UAE and UK standards. The management team of Career Skills Training have taught and coordinated teacher training courses in the UK.
The certificates available will give teachers and trainee teachers the opportunity to improve their qualifications by taking short courses that complement each other.
The new Teacher and Educational Leadership Standards for the UAE (TELSUAE) are expected to improve the performance of teachers and educational leaders. The national licensing system for teachers indicates that all teachers are required to meet the standards when it becomes available.
