Course details
This course will provide you with practical training and skills in structural fabrication, layout and development of cylinders, conical sections and transition pieces. You will also weld using a variety of processes.
You will be taught important skills in communicating effectively in the workplace and providing a safe working environment.
This course is a stream of the National Metals and Engineering training package, and aligns with other related engineering trade training programs.

What further study options will I have?
- If you are a domestic student you may wish to progress into the Certificate IV in Engineering and then the Diploma of Engineering.
- If you are an inbound international student you may wish to further your studies and progress to the Diploma of Engineering.
- Many trainees who develop further practical welding skills may choose to apply for any of the nine nationally renowned Welding Technology Institute of Australia certificates.
