Certificate III in Aged Care

Course details

Learn how to care and support older people living in residential aged care facilities. You will learn how to communicate with clients and provide physical and sociological support along with how to support people living with dementia and other illnesses, provide personal care for clients, and work with culturally perse clients and co-workers. You will also learn how to comply with accreditation requirements in the aged and community care sector and how to offer outstanding customer service and support to older people.

A feature of this course is that you may have the opportunity to undertake a work placement with one of our industry partners, Benetas. Benetas is one of the leading not-for-profit providers of residential care, in-home care, respite care, housing services and retirement living in Victoria. This course is designed to meet the needs of a complex and carefully regulated industry and will provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to make a meaningful contribution in this chosen field, and gain satisfaction from your work. It will ensure you are job ready and have the qualifications and work experience necessary to work towards securing employment with an aged care provider such as Benetas.

Entrance requirements

• Australian Year 12 or equivalent with a pass
• Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.

English language proficiency

A minimum IELTS overall score of 6.0 (Academic). A minimum TOEFL score of 530 for paper examination; 179 for computer based and 71 for internet based.
