Course details
This course will provide you with the basic knowledge and skills to prepare you for work or further study within the building and construction industry. You will receive an introduction to the industry and workplace safety, as well as how to perform industry calculations and use carpentry hand and power tools.
You will cover topics such as sub-floor construction, wall and roof framing, installing window and door frames and formwork for concreting. You will also develop your communication skills and learn about workplace documents and plans.
What employment opportunities will I have
This course may prepare you for employment opportunities as an apprentice carpenter.

This course is accredited by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA)
What further study options will I have?
You may wish to progress to an apprenticeship (Certificate III in General Construction), Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or Diploma of Building and Construction.
