What is this course about?
The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of the psychological foundations of human behaviour. In particular, the course focuses on the social influences concerning lifespan development.
This course is an ECTS 10 credit level 6 of the BA (Honours) in Applied Social Studies (Professional Social Care).
This course should not be considered as a complete programme in Psychology but an introduction to the subject with an emp
- Explain and critically evaluate theories of language, personality, cognitive development and motivation;
- Critically review the influences of ecology of development;
- Describe and analyse the biological foundations of development;
- Describe and evaluate the role of the family and familial influence;
- Analyse the role of the social setting in the development of the individual.
What are the minimum entry requirements?
Potential students must have completed Psychology 1.
