Target Audience:
Lawyers from Arab League member countries who are involved in central banking, payment system oversight, financial sector regulation/supervision, or bank resolution.
Qualification:
The IMF’s Legal Department will contact the authorities for their nominations, and then select participants from the nominated candidates..
Language:
The course is conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation into Arabic.
Course Description:
This course, presented by the IMF’s Legal Department, provides a general introduction to the institutional and legal infrastructure that is necessary to support market-based financial systems, a selection of which will be discussed during the course. It therefore covers basic institutional and functional aspects of central banking, payment system, banking regulation/supervision and bank resolution.
