Caring in the Home is a programme for family carers. A unique programme developed by Caring for Carers, it brings together formal service providers and family carers to build relationships, raise carer awareness and to promote partnership working.
This programme aims:
- To provide information and skills training to promote the delivery of safe care in the home.
- To empower family carers to manage their health and well-being.
- To promote access to health and social care services, benefits and entitlements and carer support programmes.
Modules include: Health promotion, Nutrition, Exercise, Medication management, Safety in the home, Prevention of Elder Abuse etc.,

About Caring for Carers Ireland
We_They is an independent voluntary support organisation working in partnership with Family Carers and those for whom they care. Currently there are 109 Caring for Carer groups and over 160,000 family carers forming a nationwide network in this country.
Rooted in the Carers’ Charter launched by Soroptimist International Republic of Ireland in the 1980’s, We_They Ireland focuses on the recognition of the role of the family carer, the provision of respite care, information and training while advocating for the rights and needs of carers at local, national and European levels.
