Course details
This is an introductory course in caregiving. You should take this course if you are a new caregiver concerned about your elderly parent, spouse or other adult that may need assistance in the near or distant future as a result of a recent illness or chronic condition. The examples and exercises focus on the elderly population, those suffering from Alzheimer's disease, dementia or any chronic condition.
The caregiving journey is a stressful period of time in most people's lives. They are often underprepared and overwhelmed throughout the time. Taking this course will give you the confidence to start where you are, courage to improve your communication and resource allocation and commitment to the journey utilizing the stress-reduction tips discussed.
The course format is video lecture over powerpoint presentation. The lecture has pdf downloadable slides so you can keep and take notes as you go along. The activities and quizzes are not complex but may involved some thought and research about your own personal situation.
