Course details

On completion of the course, students will have gained a detailed understanding in the use of World and User co-ordinate systems which are paramount in three dimensional CAD. Students will be competent in the manipulation and creation of objects within a three dimensional space using viewing commands such as VPOINT and DVIEW.

The college provides CAD Training to candidates from various disciplines including interior design, engineering, landscape design, architecture, retail design, shop-fitting and building services. We are now offering courses in Adobe Photoshop to complement our CAD course offering.

Course Content

  • Plotting & Printing 3D drawings

Prospective participants should have experience with CAD 2D prior to undertaking the 3D course. During the CAD 3D course, it is advisable to have access to the CAD programme outside of class time for practice.

Assessment

  • The assessment for the course includes 2 written assignments and 1 multiple choice test which is delivered online.

Certification

  • Successful participants will be awarded a City & Guilds Certificate in CAD 3D (7579-03).

to all students of the Dublin Institute of Design whom graduated Friday 19th September 2014.

The annual graduation is a special occasion that allows students to celebrate their academic achievements. This year’s graduation was held in the beautiful and historic Kings Inn.

This year’s guest speaker was Irish fashion designer Paul Costelloe, who offered warm words of enctheiragement for all present.
