Course details

This course offers students the opportunity to gain an expertise and knowledge in business studies. A range of business modules are covered to allow for flexibility in the area of business in which students may ultimately wish to specialise. It provides an excellent business grounding for students wishing to progress to higher education.

Course Requirements

Leaving Cert/Leaving Cert Applied or its equivalent. For mature students, work experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications

Suitability for this course will be assessed at interview

Progression

While this course is primarily aimed at those wishing to progress to higher education, employment opportunities also exist in the insurance and financial services sector for graduates from this course. Graduates who achieve the required standard may progress to further studies in IT Colleges through the Higher Education Links Scheme. Examples of progression options include DIT’s Higher Certificate in Business Studies (DT315) and Higher Certificate in Business Management (DT324), IT Tallaght’s BBus Administration (TA102) and BA Management (TA113).
