Course details
This newly developed course offers the chance to understand the development of a business plan for a new business right through from the initial idea through to the launch of a new product or service. Learners will gain a comprehensive understanding of a business plan and key elements which must be included.
The course initially covers assessing the viability of a business idea and identifying new opportunities in the marketplace. There is a key focus on the financial planning of a new business. Learners will understand the importance of securing finance and sourcing funding. This includes understanding what financial institutions expect from a business plan and the factors which impact on a successful application for funding. Learners will also learn about government funded initiatives and assistance available from agencies such as Enterprise Ireland.
The course then progresses to marketing the new idea and developing a marketing plan for the launch of the new product. This aspect has a key focus on presenting the business plan and developing communication skills for successfully launching the business plan.

- FETAC Level 6 Component Certificate in Business Planning
