This two-year diploma program provides students with a specialization in marketing and a strong general education in business. The program includes a number of course delivery formats including traditional in-class, hybrid and online options. These options and multiple sections provide students with exibility and su'cient time to complete project work. Students receive an application-oriented education in all aspects of marketing from product conception to product consumption. Students build mobile computing skills by interacting in a collaborative fashion with peers, project clients and course leaders. Students also benet from the application of computing technology in the program through enhanced research and improved communication skills. This collaborative environment allows graduates to immediately contribute in a meaningful way to an organization’s marketing program initiatives using modern information technology tools. The program is also designed to provide graduates with several laddering options including upgrading to an Ontario College Advanced Diploma or pursuing several Graduate Certicate options.
The program consists of four levels and is designed to provide both marketing theory and applied learning, culminating with a comprehensive marketing plan project with an industry client in the fourth level.
Marketing-related studies include marketing to the consumer and business marketplace, product and pricing strategies, marketing planning and decision making and global marketing. Marketing communications, marketing research, professional selling, sales management, and e-marketing and distribution are also covered. Learning assignments involve case studies, online discussion boards and research, simulations, practical assignments and ongoing project work with industry partners.
This program is a Mobile Computing Program. All students entering into the program are expected to have and use a laptop or mobile computing device that meets or exceeds the recommended hardware requirements as designated by the program. Students in mobile learning programs will use their devices to enhance their learning experience, obtain and work with course materials, participate in collaborative and learning environments and become skilled, condent users of the technologies used within an educational environment and workplace.

Graduates may be employed in a wide range of marketing activities, including sales (both business to business and retail), sales promotion, advertising, web marketing and social media, marketing research and planning, purchasing, customer service and product/brand management. Opportunities may be available with domestic or international retailing, manufacturing, service and wholesaling rms, and in government departments and agencies. In addition to employment in the public and private sectors, some graduates may choose to open their own business.
Programs are delivered using a variety of instruction modes. Courses may be offered in the classroom or lab, or in a hybrid mode which combines classroom sessions with online learning activities. Upon registration, each full-time student is provided an email account which is used to communicate important information about program or course events.
