The Bullying and Harassment Awareness workshop is designed to inform managers and HR professionals on how to respond to Bullying and Harassment in the work place, and what to do should an investigation take place.

This Course would be suitable for people who need to understand how to effectively deal with complaints, grievance procedures and implement discipline within the work place

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course learners will be able to:

• Have an understanding of the employment legislation in relation to bullying and harassment.
• Have an understanding of the process of reconciliation.
• Create policies and procedures for managers to have in place before a complaint is made.
• Know what steps to take, should a complaint result in an investigation.

Course Programme:

• Understand what is meant by the term Harassment and Bullying.
• Knowing the legislation that is in place for employees and employers in the work place in relation to improper behavior.
• The different types of bullying and harassment, e.g. verbal, sexual, and physical.
• The appropriate action and response to take if an allegation has been made.
• How to implement the Policies and Procedures that you have in place.
• Maintaining confidence and support to members of staff in the work place, during the investigation and once it has been resolved.
• This workshop is highly participative and will outline the legislation, and address policy and best practice for both managers and employees who are required to handle complaints.

Training Methods:

• Classroom based power-point presentation & interactive discussion.
• There will also be course hand-outs, group exercises & roll play.
